Hubei Provincial Library is located at No. 25 Justice Road, Wuchang District, Wuhan City. It was founded by Zhang Zhidong in 1904. It is the earliest Provincial Public Library in China and the first batch of State Key ancient books protection units.

The new library of Hubei Province covers an area of 100.5 mu. The main building of the library is 8 floors above ground and 2 floors below ground. The total building area is 103,300 square meters. The total collection of documents can reach 10 million copies. There are 6,300 reading seats, 10,000 person-times daily reception capacity, 500 GB annual digital resource processing capacity and 150 TB online storage capacity. It is the largest public library in the country with the largest single building area.
